Well expect you’ve been living under a rock, I am pretty sure most of you have heard about the Petraeus Scandal a few days after Obama was re- elected to a second term as president of the United States . I mean it’s all over the news, on blogs, on the internet etc. For those who don’t know what/who I am talking about, Google it. Ok so here is my take on the whole situation, I have become increasingly desensitized about the scandal and the public probably feels the same. The media’s constant coverage as a means of destroying someone’s reputation is unnecessary when they have already done so themselves.
I feel the media fueling up the situation is a total distraction because there are more pressing issues that the country needs to focus on, rather than the scandal. Granted, the court of public opinion usually plays a major role on issues like this so the media gives people something to talk about. However, Petraeus is not the first man to have an affair and he won’t be the last. A lot of politicians are already known for such scandals. Case in point; Arnold Schwarzenegger, Bill Clinton, John Edward and the list goes on. I don’t support the fact that Petraeus had an affair, but cut the guy some slack and lets move on….shall we?
How do you guys feel about the issue? Thoughts?.
